The number of red blood cells for the participants under green tea treatment also increased significantly by 0.7g/dl and the blood loss decreased from  71ml/month to 45ml/month.

It was also shown that there are no adverse effects observed by the participants treated with green tea.

A similar result was also obtained in one study using guava leaves extract.

However, in this study, guava leaves extract was used to find the effect of the extract on blood cell count in pregnant women.

It was found that blood cell count and flow between the mother and her baby increased significantly after treatment with guava leaves extract.
